Turkish honey, which is among the country’s export products, decorated tables in 41 state in the first six months of the year, including the USA, Germany and the UK.
According to the Union of Exporters of the Eastern Black Sea region (DKİB), the ANADOLOM agency collected by June from Turkey was exported by 4577 tons of honey. Sales income amounted to 16 million 624 thousand 168 dollars.
The largest supplies came to the USA, Germany and the UK. So, in the USA during the reporting period, honey was sent in the amount of 6 million 440 thousand dollars, in Germany – by 2.81 million, and to the UK – $ 1.35 million.
Unlike the same period last year, this time Turkish honey also entered Djibuti, Poland, Yemen, Congo and Iceland.

The Chairman of the DKİB board Suffet Calonju, in an interview with the agency correspondent, noted that Türkiye occupies a significant place in the global branch of beekeeping both in terms of production and quality of products.
“We have big expectations from the export potential of honey. We expect that the indicators will be even higher in the near future,” he stressed.
Calonju drew attention to the growing variety of export directions.
“This suggests that Turkish honey is becoming more recognizable and in demand in the world. And this is a really great achievement,” he said.
He added that the purpose of the near future is to further build up the export pace.
“We strive to take a strong place in new markets with high -added costs – with geographical labeling and organic certificates. Together with production cooperatives, we will continue to work on improving the quality and the formation of stable export models. We expect that in the second half of export, our goal is to see the Turkish honey. tables around the world, ”he summed up.
