Turkish Ambassador in Bishkek Mekin Mustafa Kemal Okem reported that Turkish investments in Kyrgyzstan exceeded 1 billion 400 million dollars.
Speaking at the opening of the new office building of the Turkish-Kyrgyz Society of Business People, Culture, Solidarity and Friendship (TÜKİD), Okem spoke about the development of economic relations between the two countries.
Noting that There are about 360 Turkish companies operating in sectors such as mining, tourism, energy, construction and transport in Kyrgyzstan, the ambassador said that Turkish investments have exceeded $1.4 billion.
Stressing that since its establishment in 2020, TÜKİD has united businessmen and contributed to the economic and social development of Kyrgyzstan, Okem said: “We We are proud of our businessmen. I thank everyone who contributed to the creation of this office.”
Noting that the association is an important meeting place for the business circles of the two countries, Okem added that the doors of TÜKİD are open to all Turkish and Kyrgyz businessmen who work in the interests of the two peoples in accordance with the law.
“We will always support TÜKİD, our companies and businessmen. I am especially grateful to the government of Kyrgyzstan for its efforts. we have goodwill and support,” the ambassador noted.
Deputy Chairman of the Investment Agency under the Presidential Administration of Kyrgyzstan Zhalyn Zheenaliev recalled that Turkey was the first country to recognize the independence of Kyrgyzstan and open its embassy in this country.
According to him, thanks to the support of the presidents of the two countries, bilateral relations are developing in all areas, and stated his readiness to support the Turkish investors.
Stressing openness to cooperation with TÜKİD, Zheenaliev expressed confidence that the new office will help strengthen fraternal relations between the peoples of the two countries.
Secretary General of the Anti-Corruption Council under the Administration of the President of Kyrgyzstan (YMİK) Nuripa Mukanova emphasized that TÜKİD has been a member of the council headed by President Sadir since 2021 Zhaparov.
