The Great National Assembly (Parliament) of Turkey submits a bill signed by the President on the extension of the Mandate of the Turkish military in Azerbaijan for another 1 year.
The document noted that the activities provided for in a tripartite statement of November 9, 2020, signed by the leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia and Russia, continues.
It is also indicated that the joint center, consisting of military personnel of the Armed Forces of Turkey and the Russian Federation, successfully continues its activities. According to the bill, through this center, Turkey helps to ensure the security of the region and strengthen trust between the parties.
The bill noted that as a result of anti-terrorist measures carried out by Azerbaijan on September 19-20, 2023 in the Karabakh region, the illegal separatist education operating there and associated armed groups were liquidated, and the actual occupation of the Azerbaijani territories was completely discontinued. It is also emphasized that the peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia is still not concluded.
“Turkey, which decisively supported Azerbaijan from the very beginning of the process so that it could protect all its rights, including territorial integrity, on the basis of international law and legal sovereign rights, continues to make a significant contribution to the preservation and strengthening of peace and stability in the region, as well as for the construction and restoration of the economic infrastructure that contributes to this, ”the document says.
We are talking about the extension since November 17, 2023 of the term of the Turkish military mission in Azerbaijan for another year.
