Hakan Akus from Turkey was elected president of the European Heavy Athletics Federation (EWF). This TASS reported one of the delegates of the election Congress, which takes place in Moscow.
Initially, the President of the EWF Executive Committee Antonio Conflitti (Moldova) and the head of the Federation of Heavy Athletics of Russia Maxim Agapitov also claimed the post of President EWF. However, on Thursday, Agapitov informed TASS, which starred from the elections.
Elections took place in a mixed format: Delegates directly located at the Congress voted with the help of paper bulletins, and those who could not fly to Russia, gave votes in online mode.
