Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus received status of an observer in Turkpa

The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus received the status of an observer state in the parliamentary assembly of the Turkic states (Turkpa).

The speaker of the Turkish parliament Mustaf Schentop announced that the decision was made unanimously on the morning of April 27 by participants in the XII meeting of the Turkpa Council in Ankara.

Schentop expressed hope for the further successes of the Turkish Cyprus in the international arena.

The speaker of the parliament TRSK Zorla Thorus, in turn, emphasized the significance of the observer’s status in the Turkp, noting that thanks to the support of Ankara, the Turks-Cypriots successfully overcome all the challenges associated with the unfair political and economic embargo.

He expressed his readiness for the LEFKOSHI contribution to the development of inter -parliamentary cooperation in the Turkic world.
