Sinop is one of the most important tourist destinations of the Black Sea region of Turkey, this year plans to accept up to 2 million visitors.
The city at the northernmost point of Anatolia annually visit hundreds of thousands of tourists. Sinop is famous for historical and cultural attractions, as well as picturesque nature.

The region is famous for its waterfalls in the Efelk area, the Indzheburun beacon, a historical prison and a museum, the restoration of which has already been completed and will soon open to visitors. In the new tourist season, more than 20 cruise liners are expected to arrive in Sinop.
The regional department for Culture and Tourism of Sinop has developed five different natural and cultural routes for those who visit the city before the summer season. Those who arrive in the region in the summer will be able to travel along the routes accompanied by guides.
In an interview with Anadolu, the head of the regional department of culture and tourism of Sinop Metin Synn said that the Sinop annually raises the bar in terms of tourist flow.
The head of the department noted that the data obtained in 2022 suggest that the Sinop accepted 1.5 million visitors in the reporting period, and most of this number was made by one -day tours.
According to the head of the department, such a feature is due to the fact that the region has not yet has a sufficient number of objects for placement and appropriate infrastructure. However, the region’s authorities continue to work in this direction, Suren noted.
“We had a somewhat tense period due to the restoration of cultural objects and the Square project, however, the work to restore the historical prison is already completed. It will be opened for visitors before the holiday of Kurban. We also planned other routes. Last year, only For the 9-day holiday of Kurban, 450 thousand cars drove into the Sinop and drove off, which is possible up to 1 million visitors. In general, in 2022 we reached a set of 1.5 million visitors. According to our estimates, next season we will accept more 2 million visitors. We have already done all the relevant preparations, ”Syren said.
