Turkish TPAO is aimed at new projects in Caspian region

The Turkish Oil Corporation (TPAO) is aimed at developing new projects and expanding ties in the Caspian region. This idea in an interview with Anadol was voiced by the general director of TPAO Melikh Khan Bilgin in the fields of the 28th International Exhibition “Oil and Gas Caspian” in Baku.

Bilgin noted that the Caspian is considered one of the important energy pools of the planet.

He recalled that during the years of independence of Azerbaijan, TPAO invested in the energy industry of a friendly country, implementing important projects.

“Turkey is still actively involved in large oil and gas projects of Azerbaijan. The amount of investment exceeds $ 15 billion. We strive not only to develop partnership with the State Nephthajan (SOCAR), to participate in new projects, thereby strengthening the relations between countries” – he said.

Bilgin further attracted attention to the development of a large gas deposit in the Black Sea. “We are only at the beginning of the way. Gas production has already begun. The implementation of the project is ongoing,” he said.

According to Bilgin, at the first stage, production will amount to 10 billion cubic meters. “The second phase is aimed at doubling gas production from the Sakarya deposit. In the future we will bring production up to 40 billion a year,” he said.
