Turkish Van is popular among animal lovers

The research center for breeding breed cats Turkish Van (Van Kedisi) is popular among local and foreign tourists.

The center was created at the University of Yüzüncü yıl in the Eastern Turkish province of Van in order to protect this breed of cats from extinction.

The center contains ventilation rooms, pools, a game room, as well as corners for relaxation.

The Research Center carries out activities to increase the population of Turkish van and obtain pure cat breeds.

Annually, a large number of kittens of the Turkish van breeds are bred annually in this center. Within the framework of the project “Turkish van – in each house” about 100 cats, about 100 cats find their owners.

Cats have an “international certificate”, which indicates the name, breed, floor and other characteristics of cats.

Thanks to the activity of the Center, the number of cats of the breed of Turkish van, which was under the threat of disappearance several years ago, was increased.

In an interview with Anadol, the head of the research center Abdullah Kai said that Turkish van is distinguished by extraordinary beauty.

According to him, people show great interest in this breed of cats.

“Turkish van has become a symbol of the province. It has become a symbol of tourism. Every day the number of visitors to the center is growing. On weekdays it is visited by about 600 people, more than 1000 on weekends,” said Kaya.

“Anadolo” talked with visitors to the Van Kedisi cat breeding center.

“The center carefully protects cats. It is important that this breed of cats continues to exist. We often visit this center. We also introduce our guests to it,” said one of the visitors Murat Halak.
