Turkish weightlifter won silver at European Championship

Turkish weightlifter Onur Demirji won a silver medal at the European Championship in Bulgaria.

In competitions among men in a jerk in the weight category up to 109 kg, Demirji raised a bar with 207 kg.

On the eighth day of the championship in Sofia in competitions among men of the weight category up to 109 kg, Turkish athletes Muhammad Emin Burun and Onur Demirji fell.

Following the end of the eighth day of the championship, Onur Demirji took fourth place with a total weight of 375 kg.

Muhammad Emin raised 191 kg in jerking competitions, taking an 11-month, and in the common table he took eighth place with 357 kg.

In the competition in the jerk, gold was taken by the Azerbaijani weightlifting Dadash Dashbayli (212 kg). He also took first place in the overall standings – 388 kg.

The second place in the overall standings was taken by the Bulgarian Christ Christ – 380 kg.

The third place in a jerk was taken by the representative of Germany Mataus Hofmann- 206 kg. The total weight according to the results of eight days of the championship amounted to 378 kg.

On the account of Turkish athletes, according to the results of the championship – 21 medal (5 gold, 8 silver and 8 bronze).
