Türkiye and Georgia signed a memorandum of understanding in the field of healthcare. The document was signed as part of the official visit of Turkish Minister of Health Kemal Memişoğlu to Tbilisi.
According to a written statement from the Ministry of Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labour, Health and Social Protection of Georgia, Minister Memişoğlu met with his Georgian counterpart Mikhail Sarjveladze.
During a meeting at the Ministry building, a memorandum of cooperation in the field of healthcare was signed between the Turkish Joint Stock Company “International Health Services” (USHAŞ) and the Georgian Ministry of Health.

Head During the visit, the Turkish Ministry of Health also met with Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze.
As reported in the office of the head of the Georgian Cabinet of Ministers, strategic cooperation between Turkey and Georgia, as well as relations in the field of healthcare between the countries were discussed at the meeting.
“It was noted that the close cooperation established between the two countries in the healthcare sector, brings concrete and tangible results in terms of providing quality medical services to citizens and increasing the affordability of medicines,” follows from the statement.
It was also emphasized that the importance of further strengthening pediatric oncology services was discussed at the meeting, and Prime Minister Kobakhidze thanked Memishoglu for the support provided to the Georgian health sector.
Kobakhidze expressed confidence that the memorandum of understanding signed today in the field of health between the two countries will contribute to the development of cooperation in this field between Turkey and Georgia.
Memişoğlu, along with his accompanying delegation, also met with the Chairman of the Health Committee Parliament of Georgia Zaza Lominadze. The Minister will visit the Lugar Laboratory in Tbilisi.
The program of Memishoglu’s visit to Tbilisi will end in the evening.
