Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed ways to strengthen relations between Ankara and Rome both bilaterally and within NATO during their meeting on the sidelines of the G20 summit in South Africa.
This is stated in a statement from the press service of the head of the Italian government.
Both leaders emphasized the importance of cooperation between Italy and Turkey within the framework NATO.
The President of Turkey and the Prime Minister of Italy conducted a comprehensive assessment of the ongoing international crises, in particular the war in Ukraine and the situation in the Middle East.
Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Giorgia Meloni also expressed their desire to further develop relations between the two countries against the backdrop of “an extremely favorable environment characterized by high economic growth in strategic sectors.”
