Türkiye And South Korea Will Exchange Nuclear Power Plant Project Developments And Technologies

Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar noted that the Turkish Atomic Energy Company (TÜNAŞ) and the South Korean Electric Power Company (KEPCO) signed a memorandum of understanding to work together in many areas, from the development of nuclear power plant projects to the exchange of technology and know-how, from site assessment to project financing and human resource development.

According to the statement Ministry, the memorandum of understanding, signed in the presence of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and South Korean President Lee Jae-myung, was signed by TÜNAŞ General Manager Necati Yamac and KEPCO General Manager Dong-Chol Kim.

This Memorandum of Understanding aims to exchange technical data, information, experience and know-how between Turkey and South Korea, as well as to conduct joint work.

In his publication on the social network dedicated to the agreement, Minister Bayraktar used the following expressions:

“We took part in intergovernmental negotiations led by the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the President of South Korea Lee Jae-myung. As a result of the negotiations in the presence of the leaders of the two countries, the “Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Nuclear Energy” was signed between the companies TÜNAŞ and KEPCO. Within the framework of this agreement, we intend to carry out joint work in many areas, from the development of nuclear power plant projects to the exchange of technology and know-how, from site assessment to project financing and human resource development, I hope that this agreement, which will crown our long-standing friendship with a strategic partnership in the field of nuclear energy, will be beneficial for our countries.
