The Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey Alparslan Bayractar said that work began on investments that will need Syria in terms of infrastructure.
Bayractar, who is on an official visit to the capital of Syria Damascus, spoke at a joint press conference with his Syrian colleague Muhammad Bashir.
He noted that work began on investments that will need Syria in infrastructure, as well as other sectors of the economy.
“We are conducting intensive work to increase the current production of resources, oil and natural gas in Syria, the discovery of new resources, exploration both on land and at sea, and the use of economic values that will be obtained from this activity, in the Syria infrastructure and restoration,” he said.
The minister recalled that he had previously accepted his Syrian colleague Bashir at an international meeting organized on the occasion of the International Summit on Natural Resources in Istanbul.
“Both during our bilateral meetings and in his speeches at the conference, we demonstrated that there is great potential for cooperation between Turkey and Syria in the field of energy. The parties also noticed that investors in Turkey and international investors show great interest and interest in restoring Syria.”
The Turkish minister continued the words: “One of the most important issues to normalize life is access to the main services, access to electricity, access to energy. Therefore, in recent months we have tried to develop plans in this direction with the Syrian colleague and his team.”
According to him, intensive work on the provision of electricity in Syria is also ongoing.
“these efforts began to bring the results on the ground. For example, now the gas will begin to enter Aleppo, and from there to other areas of Syria, and citizens will begin to feel it. In addition, with the abolition of international sanctions in Syria, very important opportunities for investment and financing will appear. I would like to take this opportunity to express that Turkey is ready to develop projects for private and state companies in the international Partnership.
