Türkiye completed evacuation of citizens from Sudan

Türkiye completed the evacuation of its citizens from Sudan. This is stated in the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic, distributed on Monday.

“Evacuation operations, begun on April 23 in order to ensure the return of our citizens to Sudan, were completed today (May 1 – Ed.), – it was said in the message.

The department emphasized that the safety of Turkey citizens was the main priority during evacuation operations. It is noted that during the evacuation all available modes of transport were involved, including road, marine and air.

“More than 1,700 Turkish citizens and about 300 citizens of 22 other countries who requested support were safely evacuated from Sudan,” the Foreign Ministry said.

According to the application, requests for evacuation from Turkish citizens remaining in Sudan will be considered in a separate order.

The Foreign Ministry expressed gratitude to all countries that contributed to Turkey’s operation to evacuate their citizens, primarily Ethiopia, Egypt, Sudan and Saudi Arabia.
