The official Ankara condemned the UN Cyprus Submissions Supplied, calling the position of the structure of “far from the realities” of the island.
The Turkish Foreign Ministry emphasized the failure of attempts to insist on the “unsuccessful model of the settlement” of the Cyprus question. “The model of the federal structure of Cyprus no longer reflects the sovereign will of the Cipriot Turks. This fact should be aware of all parties,” the foreign policy stressed.
Ankara noted “complete solidarity” with the ratio of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus to this issue.
“The UN SB Position ignores the reports of the UN Secretary General of Cyprus. A similar approach contributes to the uncompromising of the position of the Greek community of the island, ignoring the fact of the historical population of Cyprus, in the person of Turkish -kypriots,” the statement said further.
“We expect from the UN Security Council the fact of the fact of refusing Turks -kipriotes to discuss the previously proposed model of settlement,” the Turkish Foreign Ministry further emphasized.
The department noted that any settlement in Cyprus should be fair and long -term, reflect the will of the two peoples inhabiting the island. “The world cannot be planted by the third parties. It is necessary to clearly recognize the presence of two separate peoples and two separate states. Sovereign equality and equal international status are the inalienable assumptions of the beginning of the new negotiation process,” the department noted.
