The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey announced deep sorrow in connection with the numerous victims of the earthquake that occurred in Afghanistan.
“with a deep sorrow, they took the news that as a result of the earthquake that occurred last night near the city of Jalalabad in Afghanistan, many people died,” the statement said. The message expresses condolences to the Afghan people, and the mercy of Allah wished the dead.
Earthquake in Afghanistan
According to the US Geological Service (USGS), an earthquake of magnitude 6 occurred at a depth of 8 kilometers northeast of Jalalabad, not far from the border with Pakistan.
The local authorities reported that this is one of the most powerful earthquakes that fell on the country.
The representative of the Provisional Government of Afghanistan Zabhulla Mujahid at a press conference said that the number of those who died as a result of the night shocks exceeded 800, and the number of wounded reached 2500 people.
