Türkiye Is Committed To Provisions Of Sharm El-Sheikh Summit Declaration

Turkey will remain committed to the provisions of the Declaration following the “Peace Summit”, which was held in the Egyptian city of Sharm el-Sheikh and was dedicated to concluding a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated this in a televised address following a meeting of the country’s Cabinet of Ministers.

The head of state expressed hope for a similar position on the part of the United States, Egypt and Qatar, which also signed the document.

The Turkish leader stressed that Ankara will continue to provide active support to the residents of the Gaza Strip, including in ensuring uninterrupted humanitarian access to the region.

According to him, Türkiye intends to deliver the maximum amount of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip before the onset of winter.

The President also touched upon relations between Ankara and Damascus. “Turkish-Syrian relations are expanding, and strengthening stability in Syria will contribute to further improvement of the situation,” the politician said on this occasion.

President Erdogan emphasized that “Turkey’s role as an indispensable player in the international arena is steadily growing due to its active foreign policy position in favor of peace, dialogue and justice.”
