Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov had a telephone conversation with High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaya Kallas. This was reported by the International Information Center (IIC) of Turkmenistan.
According to the report, during the conversation, Kallas conveyed congratulations to the Turkmen side on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality, emphasizing the importance of the country’s neutral foreign policy as an important contribution to international peace and stability.
The parties highly appreciated the level of multifaceted dialogue between Turkmenistan and the EU, noting the importance of existing cooperation mechanisms in format “EU – Turkmenistan”. A wide range of bilateral issues were discussed – from further development of interaction to joint initiatives.
In addition, special attention was paid to the upcoming International Forum of Peace and Trust, which is scheduled for December 12 this year in Ashgabat. Both parties confirmed their interest in its successful implementation and strengthening cooperation.
