Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, the Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov held negotiations with the deputy prime minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu, who arrived in Ashgabat on an official visit, the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan said.
During the meeting, the current aspects of bilateral cooperation in the priority areas of a political, economic, economic and cultural and humanitarian nature were discussed.
Meredov noted that today the relations between Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan reached a qualitatively new level, having received the nature of strategic partnership. At the same time, the parties were united in the opinion that contacts at the highest level play the decisive role in the activation of interaction between the two countries. In this regard, special attention is paid to the implementation of the agreements reached in the framework of state visits by the President of Kazakhstan Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev in Turkmenistan in October 2021 and the president of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov in October 2022 in Kazakhstan.
A high level of cooperation of the two states in a multilateral format was noted, in particular, through international structures such as the UN, OIS, ECO, CIS, as well as in the formats “CU+”.
During the meeting, the parties specified the main directions and prospects for interaction in the fuel and energy complex, the oil and gas and chemical industry, the textile industry, agriculture, the environmental and environmental protection, the rational use of water resources in the region, the field of transport and logistics, Communications and telecommunications.
The feasibility of deepening the connections between the regions of the two countries was also marked.
According to the results of negotiations, in order to further intensify joint work in a political and diplomatic direction, a program of cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Kazakhstan was signed for 2024-2026.
