In Turkmenistan on Thursday, on October 29, with the participation of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, large -scale celebrations dedicated to the opening of the first “smart” city of Arkadag in the country, the Turkmenistan news agency reports.
The new city has an infrastructure that meets international standards in the environmental sphere, which provides optimal comfort and convenience for residents of the settlement.
In city highways, it is planned to launch environmentally friendly types of public transport – electric buses and electricTaxi. Thus, the city of Arkadag embodies all the newest and progressive that is in the world urban planning and engineering and technical thought.
Start to celebrations was given on the square of the Akhan monument, where the creative groups of Turkmenistan made the musical and choreographic compositions. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and foreign guests further headed to the main square of the city of Arkadag.
During the celebrations, the opening ceremony of the Arkadag monument was held.
Arkadag is a city, the administrative center of the Akhal Vlayat of Turkmenistan. It is in the stage of active construction. The new administrative center, where approximately 70 thousand people will live, are built in an area of 950 hectares located 30 km southwest of Ashgabata.
The implementation of the mega project was started in 2019.
The initiator of the project was the chairman of the Hulk Maslahata of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov.
The city is built on the basis of the Smart City concept using advanced technologies of the new generation.
