Employees of the Turkish National Intelligence Organization (MİT) and the General Command of the Gendarmerie carried out operations against cyber espionage in Istanbul and Adana, as a result of which two people were detained.
According to security sources, the operations were carried out simultaneously in two cities as part of an investigation carried out by the Ankara General Prosecutor’s Office to counter cyber espionage.
During the operation, two were detained suspects with ties to a cybercrime network.
During the searches, a large amount of digital material associated with illegal cyber activities was seized, as well as systems with foreign ties.
During interrogations, the suspects reportedly confessed to the crimes they committed and provided important information about individuals and groups with whom they collaborated in illegally obtaining personal data.
As part of the investigation, arrest warrants were issued for suspects associated with cybercrimes organizations and those located abroad.
As part of the operation, access to 24 Internet addresses on which panels for illegally requesting and processing personal data were located was blocked.
