Tajik researchers Professor Farukh Sharopov and Professor Mahsud Saidminov are among the top 2% of scientists in the world according to Stanford University (USA).
As reported by the Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, the scientists were included in the updated list of World’s Top 2% Scientists – 2025, prepared by Professor John P. A. Ioannidis.
World’s Top 2% Scientists – 2025, published annually since 2019, measures the influence of scientists by the citation rate of their scientific work. In 2025, it included more than 100 thousand researchers from all over the world.
Professor Farukh Sharopov, senior researcher at the Research Center “China-Tajik Innovation Center for Natural Products” of the Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, is included in the ranking in the field of pharmaceutical and biomolecular chemistry.
According to Scopus, Sharopov is the author of 105 publications that have been cited more than 6,800 times, and his H-index is 40. The scientist has been in the world top since 2021, steadily increasing his position.
Professor Mahsud Saidminov, a specialist in the field of nano- and nanotechnologies, was also included in the prestigious list. The scientist heads the Department of Chemistry at the University of Victoria in Canada and is the holder of a Canada Research Chair Tier II grant.
Saidminov is the author of 170 scientific publications that have been cited almost 25 thousand times.
The Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan noted that the inclusion of Tajik researchers in the ranking Stanford is an important achievement for national science and an indicator of its growing international authority.
“This is the result of many years of work and recognition of the contribution of Tajik scientists to the development of world chemistry and technology. Such successes motivate a new generation of researchers,” the department emphasized.
