The air carrier of the United Arab Emirates Emirates Airlines refused to transport goods from India to Russia that fell under the sanctions of the West. This was announced by Anna Bektor, a representative of the Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry of importers, writes The Moscow Times.
Attempts to involve the Emirates in the creation of an “antisanctional hub” came to a standstill after the delegation of American officials led by the Deputy Minister of Finance Wally Adeimo visited the UAE. The purpose of his arrival was to achieve sanctions against Russia and block the assets of the blocking of Russian assets. After the outbreak of war in Ukraine, many companies from Russia transferred part of their capital in the UAE and opened the branches of their companies there.
