Ukraine: a new law entered into force: all printed media transfers to state language

In Ukraine, from Sunday, January 16, the requirement of language law comes into force to publishers of national and regional print media on mandatory use in their publications of the Ukrainian language, reports Deutsche Vell.

A similar requirement to the local media will come into force in Ukraine later – July 16, 2024. At the same time, it will not apply to printed media, which are issued in the languages ​​of the indigenous peoples of Ukraine, as well as in English and other official languages ​​of the EU.

In addition, from July 16, 2022, the use of Ukrainian in computer programs, as well as on official websites and pages in social networks, will be required.
