Ukraine And Italy Signed An Agreement To Allocate 30 Million Euros

Italy will allocate 30 million euros for the construction of a new building of the Odessa Regional Children’s Clinical Hospital. This was reported in the Telegram channel of the Ministry of Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine.

According to the department, the agreement was signed by Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction of Ukraine, Minister of Development of Communities and Territories Alexey Kuleba and Ambassador of Italy to Ukraine Carlo Formosa. After completion of construction, more than 260 children will be able to simultaneously receive hospital care, which will significantly strengthen the region’s medical system.

Kuleba noted that the project is part of a broader cooperation program with Italy, which in 2023 took over patronage of the restoration of Odessa. According to him, the city is subject to almost daily missile and drone attacks, and cultural heritage sites remain especially vulnerable, and attacks are also recorded.

The Minister added that cooperation with Italy is also developing in other areas – cyber defense, digital solutions, railway and aviation initiatives. “We highly appreciate this support and partnership,” he said.

The department also recalled that during the Conference on the Restoration of Ukraine (URC 2025) in Rome, grant agreements for 35.5 million euros were signed for the restoration of six architectural monuments. In addition, Italy, together with UNESCO, is financing the restoration of the Transfiguration Cathedral, allocating 500 thousand euros.

It is noted that Italy is investing 6 million euros in the modernization of irrigation systems in the Odessa region and supports energy projects in Ukraine. В министерстве подчеркнули, что эта помощь ощутима для конкретных общин региона.

Кулеба выразил благодарность народу и правительству Италии за вклад в укрепление обороноспособности и восстановление Украины, а также за решение продлить военно-техническую поддержку. According to him, European partners invest not only in the security of Ukraine, but also in their own.

The Ministry emphasized that Ukraine today is the protective border of the European Union, and regions such as the Odessa region are key to ensuring stability in Europe.
