Ukraine And Russian Federation Conducted Another Exchange Of Prisoners In Framework Of Istanbul Agreements 17 July

Russia and Ukraine on Thursday, July 17, conducted another exchange of prisoners as part of the continuation of the agreements reached in the negotiations in Istanbul on June 2. This was announced by the assistant to the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Medinsky in his telegram channel.

“In continuation of the agreements’ Istanbul, today another 1,000 Telles of the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces were transferred to Ukraine. 19 bodies of our dead fighters received. May they rest on their native land,” he wrote.

Earlier, on June 2, the second round of peace negotiations of the Russian Federation and Ukraine took place in the Palace of Chyragan in Istanbul. The parties reached an agreement on humanitarian issues, including the exchange of prisoners of war from among the wounded, seriously ill and persons under 25 years of age, as well as the transfer of more than 6 thousand bodies of the dead.

The first round of Istanbul peace negotiations between the Russian Federation and Ukraine took place on May 16 in the residence of Dolmabakhche.

The date of the next round of negotiations has not yet been announced.
