Despite the military aggression of the Russian Federation, Ukraine was and remains a reliable partner and is ready to provide free capacities in a strategically important process of transportation of natural gas from the Caspian Sea to the European Union.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, this was announced during the 9th ministerial meeting as part of the Council of the Southern Gas Corridor by the Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Nikolai Kolesnik.
Participants discussed the results and plans to increase the power of gas transportation in the EU.
“The upload season will begin in a few months. Most of the UPS underground gas storage countries (PHG) are filled out, which helps to increase interest in Ukrainian PHG. The key solution is based on the use of existing infrastructure – the power of the transbalkan gas pipeline. For the Operator of the GTS of Ukraine, this is the possibility of attracting new ones customers of services for interstate points of the connection, ”Kolesnik noted.
The deputy minister also emphasized that Ukraine today is a full partner of the parties in the framework of cooperation in the oil and gas complex.
“One of the key infrastructure projects in the framework of cooperation with Azerbaijan is the project of the Euro -Asian oil transport corridor to create a new route for transporting oil from the Caspian region to the EU markets. We are interested in implementing the Southern Gas Corridor project and are ready for cooperation as part of the diversification of the natural ways of natural supply. gas, ”he added.
Kolesnik emphasized that Ukraine’s strategic interest is cooperation with the EU, the USA, Turkey and Azerbaijan, including to weaken the influence of Russia.
