Ukraine liberated more than half of captured territory

Ukraine liberated 54% of the territory that Russia captured from February 24, 2022, the British Ministry of Defense reported on its Twitter.

The department notes that Russia controls 18% of the international recognized territory of Ukraine, including the Donbass and Crimea. In the next few months, according to the British Ministry of Defense, the Russian land forces, in all likelihood, will not be able to achieve the operationally significant promotion.

At the same time, according to the analysts of the department, Russian strategic goals have probably not changed. They indicate a statement by the speaker of the Kremlin Dmitry Peskov that the goal of Russia, supposedly, is to “protect” the inhabitants of the Donbass and the southeast of Ukraine.

“Thus, Russia is probably still striving to extend control to the Donetsk, Lugansk, Zaporizhzhya and Kherson regions. Nevertheless, the Russian army, probably, cannot yet create effective shock in order to return these territories,” – The message says.
