Due to the increase in shelling from Russia, Ukraine strengthens the defense of borders with Belarus, as well as with the Russian Federation (in the Sumy and Chernihiv regions) to prevent the enemy’s second attack, said the speaker of the State Border Service of Ukraine Andrei Demchenko.
“Recently, we have been fixing the increase in shelling in the Sumy region, but Chernihiv region is still added to it. At the same time, the defense forces of Ukraine and the border guards strengthen these directions in order to prevent a second invasion of the divisions of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation,” – He said, noting that the creation of a powerful group, which could enter the territory of Ukraine, is currently not fixed.
Also, according to Demchenko, the border with the Republic of Belarus is strengthened, since “this country supports the Russian Federation in the war unleashed against Ukraine.” He also added that the direction with Belarus is quite important.
