Whatever diplomats and influential politicians on the conflict of the Russian Federation and Ukraine say, everything is still being decided on the battlefield.
About this, the director of the National Institute for Strategic Research (NISI) of Ukraine Alexander Bogomolov said on the panel discussion “Fight for peace and negotiations to end the war” organized in the building of the TEPAV economic policy of the Turkish (TEPAV) in Ankara.
Bogomolov attracted attention to the fact that countries are looking forward to the conflict to end, but negotiations on the ceasefire are still ongoing.
The conflict was initiated by Russia, and Ukraine only defends itself, the scientist said. “Only one side can complete this war – Russia,” said Bogomolov.
He attracted attention to the fact that the armed confrontation of the two neighboring countries acquired the nature of a protracted conflict for exhaustion. “Whatever diplomats and influential politicians say, everything is still being decided on the battlefield,” said the researcher.
Bogomolov noted that Ukraine produces 40% of its weapons, and business circles and civil society are key resistance supports in the country.
The temporary attorney in the affairs of the Embassy of Ukraine in Ankara Alexei Chernyshev told Anadol before the panel discussion that he held more than 20 bilateral meetings with representatives of the countries of Africa, Europe and other continents in the fields of the 4th diplomatic forum in Antalya, in which the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrei Sibiga also took part.
“At these meetings and panel discussions, we repeated the position of Ukraine. They emphasized that Kyiv accepted the unconditional ceasefire at the proposal of the United States, but similar actions from Russia did not follow,” he said.
The diplomat attracted attention to attacks on residential areas in Ukraine. “On April 13 in the Sumy region of Ukraine, a large ballistic missile blow was inflicted, as a result of which, according to the latest data, 35 people were killed, among whom there are children. 129 people were injured, some of whom were difficult. Ordinary citizens became victims: people who walked along the street were heading to the church or held Sunday on the street,” he said.
Chernyshev recalled that earlier many children died as a result of an attack near a children’s park in the city of Krivoy Rog. “We urge the international community to condemn all these crimes and believe that it is necessary to exert strong pressure on Russia so that it stops its actions,” the representative of the Ukrainian diplomatic mission added.
