United Nations (UN) Secretary-General’s Spokesperson Stephane Dujarric said the UN condemns Russia’s latest missile and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) attack on the Ukrainian capital Kyiv.
The UN Secretary-General’s Spokesman made a statement at his daily press briefing on the current situation regarding the war between Russia and Ukraine.
Dujarric noted that Russia’s missile and strike attacks using a UAV on Kyiv is unacceptable: “The Secretary-General (António Guterres) strongly condemns the large-scale missile and drone strikes carried out today by the Russian Federation in various parts of Ukraine.”
According to him, these attacks killed two people and injured many civilians. He also recalled that the Azerbaijani Embassy in Kyiv was damaged.
“Attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure are a violation of international humanitarian law. These attacks are unacceptable wherever they occur and must be stopped immediately,” he noted.
On November 14, during Russian missile and drone attacks on Kyiv, an Iskander-type missile hit the territory of the Azerbaijani Embassy.
In As a result of the attack, part of the embassy wall was completely destroyed, buildings, official vehicles, the administrative building and the consular section were damaged.
In this regard, the Russian Ambassador to Baku, Mikhail Evdokimov, was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, where he was presented with a note of protest.
The Azerbaijani Embassy in Kyiv also suffered from Russian attacks on January 2 and August 28, 2024.
