UN: In Azerbaijan, foreigners refugees are entitled to education and medicine

Approximately two thousand refugees and asylum seekers from other countries, mainly from Afghanistan and countries in the region, have access to the educational system of Azerbaijan, the appeal of the representative of the UN High Commissioner on Refugees in Azerbaijan Giudo Ambroso reports Trend.

According to Ambroso, since 2020, with respect to these persons, a law on compulsory health insurance is applied, they are included in the overall health system of Azerbaijan for treatment and vaccination from COVID-19.

“… Most refugees feel integrated, some of them were born in Azerbaijan or came to the country of children, they speak freely in Azerbaijani, noted that there is no racism and discrimination that they have the potential. I hope What, when finally, there was a real opportunity for hundreds of thousands of Azerbaijani internally displaced persons to return to their native land, it will be possible to promote less than two thousand refugees to the Azerbaijani society, which cannot return to their homeland. It would be another indicator of tolerance policies and Azerbaijan multiculturalism, “- says in the appeal Guido Ambroso.
