UN International Court rejected Armenia’s lawsuit against Azerbaijan

The UN International Court rejected Yerevan’s claim for amendments to the court order of December 7, 2021 on temporary measures in a case aroused by Armenia against Azerbaijan, against the background of the September clashes on the Azerbaijani-Armenian border.

“The court came to the conclusion that the fighting that broke out between the parties in September 2022, and the detention of Armenian troops are not the basis for changing the decision of December 7, 2021,” the UN International Court of the International Court of the International Court says, which quotes Interfax-Azerbaijan.

The court also took note of the obligation of Azerbaijan to handle all the detained Armenian military in accordance with international conventions.

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Elnur Mammadov, commenting on this decision on his Twitter, noted that Baku welcomes the court decision. At the same time, he indicated that Azerbaijan now submitted documentary evidence of war crimes committed by Armenia against Azerbaijanis, the International Court of the UN and the ECHR. “Ringing Armenia to justice is crucial in order to bring the line under the conflict and build a peaceful and stable future,” Mammadov wrote in his tweet.
