UN is concerned about growth of violence in Palestine and Israel

The UN special coordinator in the Middle Eastern peaceful process, Torm Vennesland, expressed deep concern to the surge of violence on the west coast, including East Jerusalem, as well as in Israel.

Thor Vennesland in his speech at the Security Council of the UN pointed to many cases of violence in the above territories over the past months. According to him, in a couple of months during the demonstrations, clashes and operations of the Israeli special services, 49 Palestinians were killed. 11 Israelis were killed as a result of terrorist attacks.

“The growth of violence is fed and aggravated by provocative actions and inflammatory rhetoric. It is extremely important that all sides take immediate steps to reduce tension and circulation of negative trends that undermine the prospects of the peaceful resolution of the conflict based on the principle of peaceful coexistence of the two states,” emphasized He is in his speech.

The special -class called Israel to stop the expansion of Israeli settlements by demolition and seizure of buildings belonging to the Palestinians.
