UN: poor countries received only 0.3% of Covid-19 vaccines

Chairman of the 75th session of the UN General Assembly Volkan Bozkyr called for an increase in the number of vaccines from coronavirus supplied by low-income countries.

“The goal, standing in front of us, is clear: we have a means to defeat this common enemy,” said Bozkyr, speaking on the video meeting of the UN Security Council on strengthening the multilateral approach and the role of the UN in the world. “And yet only 0.3% of all vaccines in the world were transferred to low-income countries. I repeat: only 0.3%,” he stated, reports TASS.

“We can and should improve this situation,” the chairman of the hectares called. He also welcomed the steps to failure to protect intellectual property on coronavirus vaccines.
