UN Security Council adopted a resolution on Afghanistan

UN Security Council adopted the UK resolution, France and the United States, calling on the Taliban movement to fulfill its obligations to ensure free and safe departure for Afghans and foreigners from Afghanistan, RIA Novosti reports.

13 states, the Russian Federation and China were voted by the resolution.

UN Security Council strictest condemns the attacks near Kabul’s airport on August 26 and notes that the Taliban condemned this attack. The resolution states that the UN Security Council takes into account the “Taliban” statement of August 27, in which the Taliban has committed the obligation that Afghans will be able to leave abroad, may leave Afghanistan at any time when they want, and may leave Afghanistan through any border crossing, both air and ground, including through the newly opened and safe airport of Kabul – at the same time no one will interfere with it.

Sselbo “expects the Taliban will adhere to these and all other obligations, including the relatively safe, reliable and orderly departure from Afghanistan Afghans and all foreign citizens,” is noted in resolution.
