UN: Since December 2024, More Than 2 Million Syrians Returned To Their Homeland

more than 2 million Syrian refugees and displaced persons returned to their homeland after the overthrow of the regime of Bashar al -Assad in Syria in December 2024. This was stated by the Supreme Commissioner of the UN for refugees Filippo Grandi.

In a statement published on the social network, X Grandi emphasized that he is currently in Lebanon and is sent to Syria on the occasion of World Refugees.

“more than 2 million Syrian refugees and displaced persons returned to their homes after overthrowing the regime of Bashar Assad in Syria in December 2024,” he said.

According to Grandi, this once again proves the fact that the world needs political decisions, and not another wave of instability and movement.
