The United Nations announced the next unofficial meeting on Cyprus settlement, which will be held on July 16 and 17 at the UN headquarters in New York with the participation of the parties to the conflict.
The coming representative of the UN Secretary General Stefan Duzharrik at a daily press for the press announced the upcoming event.
“The next unofficial Cyprus meeting will be held on July 16-17 at the UN headquarters. Cyprus Turks and Cypriot Greeks, as well as representatives of the countries of Turkey, Greece and the UK, will take part in it,” Dyuzharrick said.
He recalled that the previous similar meeting in an expanded format was held on March 17-18 in Geneva under the auspices of General Secretary Antoniu Guterris.
According to him, the upcoming meeting will provide the parties with the opportunity to continue the dialogue and discuss the progress achieved since March.
The meeting in Geneva, previously held in March, was organized to exchange views on the development of a possible roadmap on the Cyprus issue.
The negotiations were attended by the President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Ersin Tatars, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Hakan Fidan, the leader of the Greek-Kiro Administration Nikos Khristodulidis, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece Yorgos Gerapertis, as well as the State Minister of Foreign Affairs of the UK Ministry of Foreign Affairs Stephen Dauti from delegations.
