United States advises Iran to abandon idea of selling Russian drones

The United States believe that the possible sale of drones or other military systems of Russia is a “bad idea” and advises to refrain from such steps. About this, as the Russian media writes, said US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin at a briefing for journalists following the results of the meeting of the Western group to coordinate assistance to Kyiv.

“We would advise Iran not to do this. We think that this is a really bad idea,” he said, answering the corresponding question of the journalist.

On July 11, the US Presidential Assistant for National Security Sullivan suggested that Iran plans to transfer to Russia to several hundred unmanned aerial vehicles, including those capable of carrying weapons. In addition, according to his information, Iran plans to train Russian forces to use these drones, and the first stages of training should begin in early July.
