United States announced failures in normalization of Azerbaijani-Armenian relations

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken held a telephone conversation with Armenia Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, also plans to talk with Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev, said the official representative of the US State Department Ned Price.

According to him, Blinken and Pashinyan discussed steps to resume bilateral negotiations with Azerbaijan. “The Secretary of State expressed deep concern to the deterioration of the humanitarian situation in the Karabakh as a result of blocking the Lachinsky road. He also noted that the United States is making efforts to organize the new round of the Azerbaijani -Armenian dialogue: “The US will do everything that will benefit,” the representative of the State Department emphasized.

According to Price, “Washington sees the failures of the last time around the Karabakh question” and is ready for bilateral interaction and interaction with partners through the OSCE or in trilaterally.

“This is the personal priority of the Secretary of State Blinken. However, people like Victoria Nuland, Karen Donfried and a number of other senior officials in the European and Eurasia Bureau are also dealt with this issue,” said Price.
