United States Approved Sale Of Turkey Missiles In Amount Of More Than $ 300 Million

The United States approved the sale of Turkey Air-to-air missiles in the amount of more than $ 300 million. This is stated in the statement of the US State Department.

The Cooperation and Defense Cooperation Agency (DSCA) of the US Ministry of Defense notified the Congress of deliveries.

We are talking about the transfer of ANKARA ATSARE AT AIM-20C-8 (AMRAAM) and 6 AIM-20C-8 AMRAAM guidance systems with a total value of about 225 million dollars.

In addition, the sale of 60 AIM-9X Sidewinder Block II missiles and the related logistics and software support elements, as well as 11 tactical score blocks AIM-9X Block II for a total of 79.1 million dollars.

The mentioned missiles of the air-to-air class can be used in various air missions, especially F-16 fighters.

The period of consideration by the Congress of applications for the sale of weapons is 15 days. If there will be no objections from the Congress, the transaction is considered a consistent.
