United States Placed F-35 Fighters In South Korea To Participate In Joint Exercises

The US Army sent F-35 fighters to the Korean Peninsula to participate in summer joint military exercises with South Korea.

As the Yonhap agency reports, the annual exercises of the Ulchi Freedom Shield (UFS), which began on August 18 and aimed at strengthening joint defense in the face threats from the DPRK.

According to the command of the American troops in Korea, ten F-35 fighters are temporarily placed at the Kunsan air base south of Seoul.

aircraft belonging to the US Air Force and the Marine Corps will be involved in defensive air maneuvers and strengthening the joint preparation to deter potential threat in the region.

The DPRK leader Kim Jong -un earlier that the exercises that will last until August 28 are a manifestation of the “hostile position” of the United States and South Korea in relation to his country.
