The United States makes changes to the new version of the national security strategy due to events in Ukraine. This was reported by Bloomberg with reference to familiar sources with the progress on the work on the document.
According to the agency, the American authorities planned to publish a new version of the strategy back in January, but the growth of tension around Ukraine forced them to change their plans. Now, the text of the strategy is entered, designed to reflect the changes that occurred in the world. The terms of publication of the document have not yet been defined and further adjustments are possible.
It is noted that in the initial version of the document, the emphasis was on ensuring security in the Asia-Pacific region, which reflected Washington’s intentions to focus on the confrontation of China. The new version of the strategy is also paid to Europe. At the same time, the document emphasizes that safety problems in these two regions of the world are closely related to each other.
