The US Ambassador to Ankara and the Special Messenger of Syria Thomas Barrak said that “US President Donald Trump will soon exclude Syria from the list of countries supporting terrorism.”
Barrak took part in the ceremony of raising the flag of his country in the residence of the US Embassy in the capital of Syria Damascus, made a statement to the television channel Al-Arabiya.
A special envoy of the US President in Syria noted that the mission of American troops in Syria is to “eliminate the terrorist organization deesh.”

Barrak added that Washington will work on “promotion of trade in Syria” to resist the consequences of sanctions.
According to the Syrian official agency Sana, Thomas Barrak raised the flag of his country at the ceremony held at the US Embassy in the Abu Rummen quarter in the Damascus capital with the participation of the Foreign Minister of Syrian Assad Sheybani.
The US Embassy in Damascus suspended its activities in 2012 for security reasons.
