US Ambassador left residence in Moscow and went to airport

US Ambassador to Russia John Sullivan left his residence in Moscow and, allegedly, went to the airport. This is reported by TASS.

The correspondent of the agency, who witnessed the departure of the diplomat, said that three suitcases were loaded into the car, after which the ambassador left for the gate of the residence of Savazo House.

On April 16, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the Kremlin advised Sullian to go to the United States to consult with the new administration on relationships between Moscow and Washington. Sullivan himself first refused to leave.

On April 20, the ambassador said that he would still leave Moscow, but would return in the coming weeks. The State Department explained that Sullivan wants to spend his family and meet with members of the new administration, with whom he had no opportunity to consult since he agreed to continue the service in his post during an indefinite period.
