US Congress said they would continue to help Kyiv

Head of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the House of Representatives of the US Congress Michael McColus (Republican from Texas) is convinced that the American legislative body will continue to allocate assistance to Ukraine, despite the resolution of its single -party resolution, which was made this week, calling for military and financial support Kiev.

“I continue to believe that many legislators in both parties, the absolute majority, supports this,” he said on the air of the CBS television channel.

“We have groups on the left and right flanks that do not support Ukraine,” McColus admitted in response to a request to comment on the resolution introduced by the Republican group.

According to him, in response to such initiatives, it is necessary to explain to doubtful legislators, “where the money goes”, allocated to the aid of Kiev, and also “explain why Ukraine is so important.”

“I think that we will conduct discussions on this subject, but I am still highly sure that we will give help that they need. And I would like it to act faster so that they can win faster “,” added McCol.

On Thursday, Congressman Matt Getz (Republican from Florida) submitted a resolution to the House of Representatives of the US Congress, proposing to cease military and financial assistance to Ukraine. The resolution notes that since the beginning of the Russian special military operation, the United States provided assistance to Ukraine totaling $ 110 billion, becoming the largest donor of Kyiv. At the same time, $ 27.4 billion was aimed at military needs. Because of the assistance provided by Ukraine, the United States has seriously reduced weapons.

At least 10 members of the Republican Party in Congress, including the supporters of the ex-US President Donald Trump Mardzhori Taylor Taylor Green (Georgia) and Loren Boberto (Colorado), acted as co-authors of the resolution.
