US Considering Military Option on North Korea?

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken did not deny that the US administration is considering a military option as part of the ongoing review of policy towards the DPRK. The State Department has published the text of the interview of the head of American diplomacy to the Japanese television channel TV Asahi.

When asked by a journalist if Washington is considering a military option with regard to Pyongyang, Blinken replied: “Well, what we will be looking at and are considering in this review is an analysis of various pressure opportunities, as well as various opportunities for diplomatic efforts. and let’s see what we succeed. We want to be sure that we will complete this process, share our findings and conclusions with our closest partners in Japan and South Korea, and then we will work on it together, “reports TASS.

Blinken said the revision process involved non-governmental experts, former high-ranking officials, as well as representatives from the Republic of Korea and Japan, that “the revision is in full swing” and “will be completed in the coming weeks.

The White House announced in January that the current US administration, led by President Joe Biden, is going to prepare a new strategy towards the DPRK and pursue a course, including the containment of Pyongyang.
