US defense budget project did not include sanctions against Russia

The draft defense budget of the US House of Representatives did not include new sanctions against Russia, writes RBC.

Pentagon budget project for 2022 fiscal year approved by one of the Subcommittees of the Comgnation Committee. On July 13, this committee will consider it in general, then the Committee on Armed Forces, and then the document will be submitted to the Chamber.

According to the project, the amount of pentagon financing will be 706 billion dollars. The document prohibits the use of the funds of the Ministry of Defense for the content of Guantanamo prison after September 30, 2022, and also prohibits the support of operations carried out by the Coalition led by Saudi Arabia in Yemen.

In recent years, Congressmen often included restrictions against Russia to the defense budget, RBC notes. For example, in the budget for the current financial year, sanctions on the “Northern Flow-2” were prescribed. They, in particular, related to companies providing insurance and certification services for the construction of the pipeline.
