Between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan by Jayhun Bayramov and Assistant US Secretary of State on issues of Europe and Eurasia Karen Donfrid took place a telephone conversation.
As reported in the management of the press service of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, Karen Donfrid handed over to the Minister of Jayhun Bayramov congratulations on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the restoration of independence of Azerbaijan.
The parties exchanged views on the agenda of cooperation between the two countries and stressed the importance of developing links for a number of directions. During the telephone conversation, a post-conflict situation in the region was discussed.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov brought to the attention of Assistant Secretary of State the position of Azerbaijan on the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan based on the principles of international law. In turn, Karen Donfrid noted the importance of normalizing relations between the two countries and the willingness of the United States to provide support in this matter.
Parties also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
