US Ministry Of Finance: 90-day Customs Break Can Be Extended For “conscientious” Partners

US Minister of Finance Scott Immorta did not rule out the extension of a 90-day customs break provided by President Donald Trump to trade partners who are negotiating “conscientiously”.

This 90-day period, within which the introduction of additional duties is suspended, expires on July 9. However, immortal made it clear at a meeting of the House of US representatives that the deadline could be extended.

According to him, the United States is negotiating with 18 key trading partners, and Washington is ready to extend the delay for countries or trade blocks, such as the European Union, “subject to conscientious participation in negotiations.”

“It is quite possible that we will extend the deadline to give the opportunity to continue conscientious negotiations,” the minister said.

“If any countries do not negotiate, then we will not do this,” he added.

Earlier, on April 9, President Trump announced the suspension of the introduction of additional duties for a period of 90 days for all trading partners, with the exception of China.
